I am a software developer and designer with a background in robotics and artificial intelligence. I coordinate the RoboLab at the University of Bari, where I lead the technical side of research projects: from ROS 2 robotic platforms to the reproducibility of experimental setups.
I am most interested in where AI meets software engineering: software analytics, autonomous systems, and reliable solutions for robots that have to work outside the lab.
Research
My research focuses on contactless perception for mobile robots in real-world settings, with a particular focus on clinical environments. The core idea is that a robot moving through a ward can pick up useful signals, visual and environmental, and turn them into an early risk assessment, without ever interfering with the staff's work.
A second line of work concerns safety specifications: how to translate clinical pathways into verifiable constraints for physical AI, so that the robot's behavior stays within explicit, controllable limits.
